DAVIDFAN'S REVIEW OF "LEGACY":

There are some good songs on here. Ok none are good, They're all GREAT(except one)! Here is the track listing with a mini review of the song (example TRACK NUMBER-SONG-MINI REVIEW). The CD in general is done in Temptations style, If you like good music I promise you will love this CD. 1 - Still tempting - Kind of like reading a book about the temptations (The temptations of the 60's) It starts out with: "It was on a cold winter night, January 1964*, Detroit Michagin. 5 young men walked into music history not knowing they would become part of a legacy that would outlive them all. The sound of Motown." With the founder Otis Williams narrorating. 2 - 'Round here- Starts with a blotch of chords, then a harp and doesn't sound like much to listen to at first, But once you give it a little time it has a Jazz/rap meets Soul/funk ... Doesn't sound like a great mix of music types but you'll be surprised when you hear it. 3 - Stay together- Starts with a bassline (nontempts style) But is still a great song, Wonderful vocals. True Temptations material. 4 - Something special - Features the voice of Joe Hendron, The temptations bassman. Joe is GREAT! and the song it self is the kind of song you listen to over, over, over, and over again 5 - 50/50 love - There has been alot of debate among tempts fans wether this is a good song or more of a "B-SIDE", To me there is no debate, It is perfect. Harmony is there, So is beat, Great lyrics. This is a song that could easily bring a new younger audiance to the temptations. 6- Make love to the music - Starts off with a "MUST BE THE MONEY" riff, then goes into this diso beat. The sound quility rocks, and the song is great. Not the best on the CD, But I could listen to it alot. 7- You are nessesary in my life- It starts of slowly ... and once you get up to about 1 minute and 20 seconds it picks up the beat ... But it is still the worst song on the CD ... I have no patience for it, And would rather they recorded a differant song. 8- Mr. Fix It - This features Joe again, and once again he is absolutely in the groove! Not only is it a life leson that teaches you 2 things A: Pay more attention to your partner B: Never pay someone to do your household work (plumbing, electronics, ect) but it is also a song the empisizes that sound that made the temptations them. 9- All the wrong people- Ron Tyson's voice is superb, And Terry Weeks rips this one up.(in a good way) 10- Baby It's me - The piano/guitar intro is worth the price of the CD ... Then it goes into the song, And If you played it for someone who wasn't a temptations fan (or knew who they were even) Someone might swear it was Usher or someone like that. This song is perfect for they way R&B has evolved (temptations in my opinion molded R&B) since the early 60's to now. The temptations managed to do this PERECTLY for todays music market. 11-Why can't we be lovin' friends - Music blends perfectly with the voices. Just the way the temptations do this song makes it worth listening to. Go buy the CD and listen to it, You'll understand what I mean. 12-Never let you down- This one reminds me of one of those FOLGERS commercials, Were you wonder who does those songs, and think they should be signed to a record label. Fortuneatly, We know who does this song, And they are signed. I recomend this song to anyone who is a temptations fan,or just likes good music. * January 1964 was when David Ruffin entered the group, and they got there first tastes of success.
